submitted by Kim H. - |Recommended: YesI'm happy at Vista Apartments in Valley, Alabama — I moved to Vista in February 2026 due to a job relocation. The apartment is just a 5-minute drive from the highway, Walmart, and major restaurants. And I feel safe there. My wife and I found the apartment to be spacious, and it had new carpeting when we moved in. We are very happy living here. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and colleagues. The staff were extremely friendly, and I’d especially like to thank Emily, the leasing manager, for her kindness from the very beginning of the contract process and for handling minor maintenance issues so well.

She consistently responds promptly whenever I encounter an issue, and although many matters require approval from higher management, she always goes above and beyond within her scope of responsibility. Madison is not only efficient but also incredibly kind and approachable. Her dedication and positive attitude make a significant difference, and I truly hope she remains a part of our office for a long time.

submitted by Alyssa F. - |Recommended: NoHighly Disappointed in Cleanliness and Management at Vistas — I am extremely disappointed with the cleanliness and lack of urgency in resolving quality issues in the apartment I rented. Here’s a summary of my experience so far 1. Lease and Move-In Discrepancies Before I even signed the lease, I noticed discrepancies between what I was told over the phone and the paperwork presented to me. Although the staff made adjustments, issues persisted. For example I specifically requested a third-floor unit due to working from home. She stated this was not in my paperwork, although they adjusted it to a different building with availability on 10 28. Upon touring the initial apartment on 10 25, the bathroom had fecal matter, with management stating the “cleaning staff had yet to arrive.” The unit was not properly cleaned and should not have been shown to potential tenants. 2. Pest Infestation When I toured the apartment on 10 28, I found three roaches in the bedroom. I requested this be addressed before moving in, and staff reassured me via text it would be resolved. Unfortunately, this was not the case. After moving in, I discovered the infestation was severe, with roaches coming from outlet fixtures and other areas. Despite weekly scheduled sprays, I’ve continued to find bugs daily. A 200 discount on rent was offered, but this does not address the full costs, inconvenience, or my discomfort living in these conditions. 3. Cleanliness Issues The unit was not thoroughly cleaned before my move-in. Food remnants e.g., cup noodles in the cabinet and grime behind the fridge and stove suggested the space hadn’t been deep-cleaned in years. Cabinets in the kitchen were visibly stained, and broken knobs on the washer and dryer were only replaced after multiple inquiries. 4. Parking and Towing Incident Despite being told parking was “first come, first serve” except for handicapped spots , my car was towed from a reserved spot in my first week. When I raised this with the manager, she referred to the lease, which contradicted her verbal statements. 5. Other Issues with the Complex The common area trash is frequently overflowing, and the walkways haven’t been cleaned since I moved in. My gate key and mailbox key were non-functional, requiring multiple visits to the office for replacements. Maintenance entered my apartment without notice, which felt like an invasion of privacy. I chose this complex for its gated-community feel and proximity to the interstate, but these benefits are overshadowed by unresolved pest issues, poor cleanliness, and inconsistent management practices. If these problems persist, I will have no choice but to find alternative accommodations.
